The Idun's laminated blade is composed of a VG10 steel core and the sides are 420J2 hard stainless steel. This superior combination of metals combines every conceivable and desirable knife characteristic, including durability, torque resistance and blade durability - all in one blade.
The 5mm thick single blade is strong enough for all reasonable tasks, but with the laminated technology, expect an additional 20% strength in the form of bend resistance compared to the unlaminated VG10 blade.
The beautiful handle consists of specially selected cowhide leather for a secure and sturdy grip. It ages with elegance and acquires an attractive brown patina over the years. The handle is unaffected by oil and solvents and is water resistant. When the cowhide dries, small cracks may appear on the handle, but these will disappear when the knife is used again.
