Detailed information

Product detailed description

Magnum Collection 2026 represents an exceptional fusion of traditional Solingen knife craftsmanship and modern manufacturing technology. It was created with the involvement of Matthias Leimküller, whose family has been dedicated to the production and refinement of knives for four generations in Solingen, Germany, a city with a long history of blade manufacturing. The Leimküller family know-how is based on meticulous manual processing, experience passed down through generations, and an emphasis on detail that often takes a backseat in mass production.

A significant part of the traditional manufacturing operations in the family grinding facility is performed manually. Pre-grinding, fine grinding, straightening, finishing, and other blade treatments are based on procedures proven over decades. This approach complements the precision of modern Magnum technologies, creating an interesting combination of classic craftsmanship and modern processing. The result is not just another mass-produced knife, but a collector's model that bears the distinct signature of Solingen tradition.

The drop point fixed blade with a Satin-Finish surface utilizes BKR-10 powder stainless steel produced by Boker. The material offers high hardness, good wear resistance, and significant corrosion resistance. The chemical composition, with a significant proportion of carbon and chromium, is supplemented by cobalt, which supports the properties of other alloying elements and contributes to the overall performance of the steel. BKR-10 represents a modern stainless powder steel suitable for a blade that must handle demanding cutting tasks while simultaneously resisting moist environments well.

The drop point profile creates a robust tip and universal cutting geometry. It finds practical use in slicing, trimming, chopping, and light wood processing. A safer grip is ensured by prominent guard elements with finger protection, while the ergonomically shaped leather-wrapped handle provides a pleasant and secure contact with the palm. The leather finish also gives the knife a traditional look that fits well with the character of a classic hunting and outdoor knife. The ergonomic leather handle, guard, and balanced bolster create a construction prepared not only for display but also for real use in nature.

The delivery of this traditionally styled outdoor and hunting knife includes a two-tone bovine leather sheath with a belt loop. The black-accented part bears the Magnum Collection embossing, which visually links to the marking on the blade. Thus, the sheath serves a practical function for safe carrying while also emphasizing the overall appearance of the limited collection.

Magnum Collection 2026 is produced in a strictly limited series of 1,999 pieces for the entire world. Each specimen is complemented by a certificate of authenticity and an elegant wooden case intended for storage and representative presentation. The limited number, the Leimküller family tradition, and the combination of manual craftsmanship with modern technology give this knife significant collector potential. Nevertheless, it retains the true character of a working knife, so in addition to a display case, it can also find a place with outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, campers, farmers, or experienced users who appreciate a quality fixed blade.

The roots of Böker go back to the 17th century, when the family forge operated in Remscheid and focused on steel processing and edge tools. Over time, practical experience shaped a technical mindset that balanced durability, cutting performance, and reliability. The expansion into sabres and rapiers around 1829–1830 marked a decisive technological step, demanding precise heat treatment and consistent blade geometry. With more than a hundred skilled craftsmen employed, the company gained the capacity to refine production without losing its artisanal foundation.

During the second half of the 19th century, parts of the family moved to North America, establishing facilities in the USA and Canada. This international presence allowed experimentation with new designs and materials. Today, major production remains in Solingen, supported by manufacturing in the USA and Argentina, while modern CNC machining ensures tight tolerances and repeatable results. Böker develops knives in-house and in collaboration with well-known makers, delivering tools that combine engineering precision with practical usability, including the widely distributed MAGNUM line aimed at robust everyday performance.
