Product detailed description
The Leatherman Wave Alpha represents a new generation of multi-tools designed for demanding users who seek reliability, durability, and precision in one compact unit. The construction uses high-quality MagnaCut® steel, which combines high hardness, toughness, and exceptional corrosion resistance. The reverse tanto blade shape provides better penetration and control for detailed work while maintaining a long-lasting edge even with daily use.
The knife is opened using a new thumb stud, which ensures smooth and confident one-handed operation, which will be appreciated by anyone who works in the field or needs quick access to the tool without having to put down other equipment. The lightweight G10 body with fine topographic milling offers excellent ergonomics, a firm grip even when wearing gloves, and a visually appealing design inspired by the lines of nature.
Each handle contains tools that can be deployed together, so switching between functions is quick and natural. For the first time in a Wave model, there are full-size one-handed scissors with the largest cutting surface ever on a Leatherman plier. This allows the Wave Alpha to handle fabric, straps, and finer materials without the need for additional equipment.
The entire tool was designed with an emphasis on durability, precision craftsmanship, and the ability to withstand demanding conditions in the workshop and outdoors. The Wave Alpha combines the tradition of the popular model with the latest technologies and takes the concept of a multifunctional tool to the next level. The sheath is available separately.

Leatherman - the idea was conceived in Tim Leatherman's head, he was travelling around the world and thinking of an easy way to take a set of tools with him. His knives are made of stainless steel and are mostly pliers based with various pulling tools including screwdrivers, files, saws and more.
Since 1983, LEATHERMAN has been making multitools that are very durable and made for the job. When Tim Leatherman and his business partner Steve Berliner founded the Pocket Survival (PST) multitool company, they had no idea that they would one day be producing more than 30 models in a 90,000-square-foot factory with more than 400 employees.
Oregon native Tim Leatherman graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University in 1970. After that, he held a number of jobs, including positions as an English teacher and helicopter mechanic. His time spent traveling abroad was eventually spent inventing the concept of a new universal tool. From the beginning, the company has been founded on a simple philosophy: to manufacture and deliver on time, to fulfill customer requests and listen to their needs, to increase the efficiency of multitools, and to provide a pleasant environment for its employees. Although Tim is now retired, he still visits the factory at least once a month and both he and Steve play a key role in the direction the company is taking. Tim still makes many visits around the world to keep an eye on the distribution network.
