Hanwei's Practical series katanas have always been at the forefront of offering economical yet functional swords to the martial arts community. Designed for maximum cutting power, these latest Practical XLs combine the geometry and blade profiles of the Performance Series with the affordability of the Practical. The blades are forged from 1566 carbon steel and differentially hardened in the traditional manner, resulting in a blade hardness of HRC60 and a spine hardness of HRC40. The removable handle is wrapped tightly with imitation leather to provide a good grip that will last for years of tameshigiri practice.
