When you hold the Shikoto Longquan Master hammer-forged sword, you are holding the same weapon that warriors used over 2,500 years ago. Thanks to the methods used by Bronze Age swordsmen, the tanto has a 32cm long blade of high carbon T10 steel that has been hammer forged and hardened in clay to create the visible hamon line. Thanks to differential hardening, the magnificent blade has a harder edge and softer back, the hallmark of a high quality weapon. The tsuba and handle fittings with the katana motif are solid iron, and the wooden handle has a traditional cord wrap over genuine tea-dyed stingray leather. The blade is housed in a black lacquered and polished wooden sheath with cord wrapping. The Shikoto Longquan Master Tanto is also accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with blacksmithing details signed by the master swordsmith.
