Product detailed description
Before the Tour de France could become the most important cycling race in the world, former heroes were struggling on two wheels on rough cobblestones, dusty gravel roads and sometimes short and poisonous climbs. A steel frame, cotton jersey, cassette, single gear, but a hero's moustache, this was the usual kit with which they set out on the relentless 250km of classic one-day races. This nostalgic charm gave birth to five monuments of cycling that still thrill countless cycling fans today. The first of these traditional one-day classics originated in Belgium and France before 1900 and brought glory and honour to the winners.
Boker is bringing back a piece of history and presenting the Böker Bicycle Race as a new edition of the eponymous razor that appeared around 1900. The blade of the special model, which is limited to 300 pieces worldwide, depicts a classic bicycle race in a picturesque landscape based on historical models. Almost the entire blade is filled with a meticulously restored motif laser-cut in several layers, and the blade is adorned with the historic H. Boker & Co. logo.
The 5/8-inch-wide blade made of durable carbon steel is fitted with a stepped pommel and represents the versatility, robustness and straightforwardness of classic bikes that had to be prepared for all terrains with solid equipment - the Böker Bicycle Race is thus by no means inferior when it comes to shaving. The noble satin finish and single-sided serrations complete the razor's heroic profile. The ball-shaped handle in black plastic will be modernly refined with two nickel silver rivets.

The roots of Böker go back to the 17th century, when the family forge operated in Remscheid and focused on steel processing and edge tools. Over time, practical experience shaped a technical mindset that balanced durability, cutting performance, and reliability. The expansion into sabres and rapiers around 1829–1830 marked a decisive technological step, demanding precise heat treatment and consistent blade geometry. With more than a hundred skilled craftsmen employed, the company gained the capacity to refine production without losing its artisanal foundation.
During the second half of the 19th century, parts of the family moved to North America, establishing facilities in the USA and Canada. This international presence allowed experimentation with new designs and materials. Today, major production remains in Solingen, supported by manufacturing in the USA and Argentina, while modern CNC machining ensures tight tolerances and repeatable results. Böker develops knives in-house and in collaboration with well-known makers, delivering tools that combine engineering precision with practical usability, including the widely distributed MAGNUM line aimed at robust everyday performance.
