KMFS Vantaedge Advanced Clamp ROTOCLAMP
Code: KMFSROTOCLAMPRelated products
Product detailed description
The advanced KMFS ROTOCLAMP clamp system for Vantaedge expands the possibilities of precise knife clamping during sharpening and provides considerably greater flexibility when working with different blade shapes. The system is based on rotating clamps whose position can be individually adjusted according to the length and geometry of the knife. Additional clamping jaws can be fitted when needed, creating stable support even for unusual, long or more complex blade designs. ROTOCLAMP takes knife clamping beyond simple pressure clamping and turns it into a precisely adjustable system that can better adapt to the individual blade.
The integral clamps are completely CNC-machined from a single block of aerospace-grade Ergal 7075 T651 aluminum alloy. This high-strength material offers excellent rigidity at a low weight and withstands long-term mechanical stress. The main chassis, made from the same material, supports the strength of the entire assembly and helps maintain stable geometry throughout the sharpening process. The use of Ergal 7075 T651 provides the system with high structural rigidity, directly contributing to the precision of the sharpening stone guidance.
Two additional clamping jaws use spherical bronze bushings for the clamping screws. This important detail allows the contact surfaces to adapt more naturally to the specific shape of the blade and helps reduce unwanted lateral forces during tightening. The blade therefore does not have to be forced into an unnatural position simply by the pressure of the screw. Both additional clamps are not always necessary for improved stability – even one correctly positioned clamp can significantly improve knife stability during sharpening.
The stainless-steel clamp shaft operates in a pair of bronze bushings, allowing it to rotate smoothly and move axially. This construction makes it possible to rotate the clamped knife directly within the assembly without dismantling or removing parts of the Vantaedge system. At the same time, the entire clamped knife together with the clamp can be removed for convenient inspection of the newly sharpened edge. Turning the blade to sharpen the opposite side is therefore faster and eliminates the need to repeatedly find the correct clamping position.
Locking after a 180° rotation uses a shaped groove in the bronze seat, helping to return the blade repeatedly to a defined working position. The knife clamping position is calibrated, while the system still allows fine adjustment when necessary. The tension of the stainless-steel spring that holds the working position during sharpening can be adjusted using a self-locking stainless-steel nut and the supplied wrench. This allows the user to fine-tune the resistance of the mechanism according to personal preference and the weight of the clamped knife.
An interesting technical feature is the lower-positioned linear bearing of the angle guide head. This design creates more working space for the sharpening stone when sharpening at low edge angles and expands the capabilities of the system for finer, more acute edge geometries. ROTOCLAMP makes low-angle sharpening more efficient without the restrictions that can occur when guide components are positioned higher.
The system is designed for knives with a maximum blade thickness of approximately 7.5 to 8 mm. Combining precision-machined Ergal, bronze bushings, stainless-steel components and an adjustable rotating construction, ROTOCLAMP represents technically sophisticated equipment for the KMFS Vantaedge system. It is not simply another clamp – the complete assembly expands the way a knife can be supported, stabilized, rotated and repeatedly positioned with precision during sharpening.
ROTOCLAMP clamps for the KMFS Vantaedge INTEGRAL system provide a robust solution designed for secure, precise and repeatable knife clamping during sharpening. The construction is entirely CNC-machined from solid material, contributing to high rigidity, precise manufacturing and long service life of the individual components. The main parts are made from EN AW 7075 T651 aluminum alloy, offering very high mechanical strength while maintaining low weight.
The surface is protected by a natural hard anodized finish, increasing resistance to everyday wear while preserving the technical appearance of the machined components. Stainless-steel clamp shafts, tool-steel bearings and spherical bronze bushings form a combination of materials designed for smooth movement and long-term reliability. A stainless-steel spring maintains the working position, with preload adjustable by a self-locking stainless-steel nut. High-strength clamping screws with a blackened finish contribute to secure and stable tightening.
The increased clamping strength helps reduce unwanted blade movement during sharpening and supports precise maintenance of the selected sharpening angle. ROTOCLAMP combines high stability with straightforward operation, allowing the knife to be clamped, released or replaced quickly without unnecessarily complicated handling.
The package includes ROTOCLAMP clamps for the Vantaedge INTEGRAL system, a hex key for operating the additional clamps and a wrench for adjusting the stiffness of the working-position locking mechanism.

KMFS represents a Czech manufacturer focused on high-precision knife sharpening systems. The construction emphasizes mechanical accuracy, rigidity and repeatable sharpening results. During use, the angle control remains stable and predictable, allowing the edge to be shaped with confidence. The sharpening process feels controlled rather than experimental, which makes a real difference when working with quality blades.
A strong point lies in the modular design. The basic setup can be expanded with finer sharpening stones, diamond abrasives, leather strops or polishing compounds. This flexibility supports everything from aggressive reprofiling to delicate edge refinement. KMFS becomes a complete sharpening platform rather than a single-purpose tool, suitable for a wide range of knives and steels. Well-designed accessories also help keep the workspace organized and efficient.
Continuous development plays a key role in the brand’s identity. Recent introductions such as KMFS Rival, KMFS Vantaedge and KMFS Sensei bring improvements in ergonomics, stiffness and overall precision. Selected design elements are patented, highlighting original engineering rather than imitation. KMFS therefore stands as an evolving sharpening system with long-term value for demanding users.
