HERRING NE (No Edge): a replica of the popular Herring dagger with a blunt blade. It serves as decoration and any subsequent modification and sharpening done to the blade will void the Extrema Ratio warranty.
The Herring dagger is one of the most popular military knives among fans. Its original name is the Fairbairn-Sykes or Commando Dagger and it was introduced in the British Commandos fighting kit. A dagger that makes history during World War II due to the exploits of the young soldiers of the 1st Reconnaissance Squadron "Folgore" who were equipped with this weapon during Operation Herring. A dagger that has a heroic piece of history that is little talked about, although the dedication to the cause and the courage of these young boys have written an important page in Italian history. Extrema Ratio wanted to pay tribute to this dagger while preserving its original design using the latest manufacturing techniques. The unique finish on the handle mimics the aging of brass and gives the dagger a dated look, similar to the original. The dagger was developed in collaboration with 185. RRAO and adopted as a ceremonial commemorative dagger to mark 20 years of the regiment and 75 years of the Herring mission. The dagger features a polymer sheath with the historic Squadron F frieze, a leather/cydex sheath with brass tip and two commemorative scrolls.
