Thanks to the absence of epoxy coating on the blade, the high carbon 1095 steel is fully exposed to allow the woodland wanderer to effortlessly forge a spark - whether with an iron bar or a fragment of flint. With a contoured black canvas micarta handle and white D Fly 4.5 ferrules, it combines comfort and utility with beauty and art. The handle is very slim (3/4" at the palm swell), but fits great in a large meaty hand or the glove of a youngster learning woodworking skills for the first time. These small details, the result of experience and calloused hands, have made the D Fly 4.5 the long-awaited official Canadian bushcraft knife.
