Detailed information

Product detailed description

The Morakniv Risberg Heavy Duty Carbon was developed as the most robust model in the Risberg series, designed for demanding outdoor use, bushcraft, and woodworking. Its construction follows the Scandinavian knife-making tradition, where functionality, easy maintenance, and reliability in the field play the key role. The thicker blade and reinforced geometry allow higher loads during chopping, carving, and heavier outdoor tasks. Risberg Heavy Duty combines the strength of a survival knife with the practical simplicity of a traditional Scandinavian outdoor tool.

The blade is made from German C100S carbon steel, offering high toughness and very good edge retention. Carbon steel responds quickly to sharpening and allows easy edge restoration even in field conditions without specialized equipment. A hardness of approximately 57.5 HRC provides a balanced combination of edge durability and material flexibility under stress. The Scandi grind with a 27° angle delivers aggressive bite into wood and excellent control during fine carving tasks. Scandi grind remains one of the most sought-after blade geometries for bushcraft, carving, and wood processing in outdoor environments.

The thicker blade profile handles demanding tasks such as light wood splitting, batonning, and deeper cuts when preparing feather sticks for fire starting. The construction transfers force more effectively than standard lightweight outdoor knives while still maintaining a relatively compact format suitable for everyday carry in nature. The blade extending deep into the handle improves balance and increases stability during heavy cutting. Risberg Heavy Duty combines the working character of a survival knife with the precision of a classic Scandinavian bushcraft tool.

The ergonomic PP polymer handle resists moisture, dirt, and low temperatures. The non-slip texture improves grip security when working in wet conditions or while wearing gloves. An integrated finger guard protects the hand during forceful cutting tasks, while the lanyard hole allows attachment of paracord. The polymer sheath with click-lock system securely fixes the knife during movement and supports both right- and left-handed carry. The practical construction details are based on real outdoor needs including camping, hunting, fishing, and bushcraft use.

Production takes place in Mora, Sweden, a region with a long tradition of working knife manufacturing. More than a century of experience is reflected in the simple, functional design free from unnecessary complexity. Risberg Heavy Duty Carbon appeals to users seeking a durable carbon steel bushcraft knife focused on performance, easy maintenance, and reliability in the field.

Traditional Swedish Mora knives have earned a strong reputation as dependable tools over many years. Their strength lies in straightforward design, proven materials and real-world usability, rather than visual extravagance. Blades are commonly made from Scandinavian steel, treated to balance edge retention with easy maintenance. The characteristic grind supports controlled cutting during woodworking, food preparation or general outdoor tasks. Handles feel secure in the hand, even in cold or wet conditions, reflecting their northern heritage.

Knife making in the Mora region reaches far back in history, and this long-standing craftsmanship still influences production today. Generations of experience combine with modern manufacturing techniques, resulting in tools that perform consistently in daily use. Mora knives often serve as an entry point for beginners, yet continue to satisfy experienced users who value reliability.

Well-known model lines gained popularity through versatility, durability and honest performance. Mora demonstrates that a simple, well-made knife can deliver outstanding value without unnecessary complexity. This practical philosophy explains why the brand remains trusted worldwide.
