Detailed information

Product detailed description

The Morakniv Risberg Carbon was developed as a versatile outdoor knife for everyday use in nature, camping, and general equipment-related tasks. Its construction is rooted in the long-standing Swedish knife-making tradition focused on functionality, easy maintenance, and reliability in changing conditions. Thanks to its low weight and practical design, it carries comfortably during hiking, fishing, bushcraft, or work around the campfire. Risberg represents a modern outdoor knife designed for real-world use rather than display purposes.

The blade is made from German C100S carbon steel, offering high sharpness, excellent cutting performance, and easy sharpening even in field conditions. A hardness of approximately 58.5 HRC supports long edge retention while maintaining the toughness needed for regular outdoor use. The Scandi grind with an edge angle of approximately 23° provides excellent control during wood carving, whittling, and detailed cutting tasks. Thanks to its simple geometry, the edge can be restored easily even without specialized sharpening equipment. The classic Scandinavian grind remains one of the most practical blade geometries for bushcraft, carving, and woodworking.

The blade extends deep into the handle, improving stability and more efficient power transfer when working close to the cutting edge. The thin blade profile improves material penetration and supports precise cutting during food preparation, feather stick making, or light wood splitting. Carbon steel also naturally develops a patina over time, giving the knife a unique character. The carbon steel blade of the Morakniv Risberg combines aggressive cutting performance with a traditional outdoor feel.

The ergonomic handle made from durable PP polymer resists moisture, cold temperatures, and dirt. The surface texture supports a secure grip even in wet conditions or while wearing gloves. An integrated finger guard helps protect the hand during forceful cuts, while the lanyard hole allows attachment of paracord or a safety loop. The polymer sheath uses a practical click-lock system that securely fixes the knife during movement. The construction also supports both right- and left-handed carry or direct attachment to outdoor clothing. The simple sheath with mechanical retention follows the philosophy of Scandinavian working knives — quick access, low weight, and maximum practicality.

Production takes place in Mora, Sweden, where Morakniv continues more than a century of tradition in manufacturing working and outdoor knives. Risberg Carbon combines modern materials, proven geometry, and the experience of generations of Swedish knife makers into an affordable knife ready for everyday outdoor adventures.

Traditional Swedish Mora knives have earned a strong reputation as dependable tools over many years. Their strength lies in straightforward design, proven materials and real-world usability, rather than visual extravagance. The characteristic grind supports controlled cutting during woodworking, food preparation or general outdoor tasks. Handles feel secure in the hand, even in cold or wet conditions, reflecting their northern heritage.

Knife making in the Mora region reaches far back in history, and this long-standing craftsmanship still influences production today. Generations of experience combine with modern manufacturing techniques, resulting in tools that perform consistently in daily use. Mora knives often serve as an entry point for beginners, yet continue to satisfy experienced users who value reliability.

Well-known model lines gained popularity through versatility, durability and honest performance. Mora demonstrates that a simple, well-made knife can deliver outstanding value without unnecessary complexity. This practical philosophy explains why the brand remains trusted worldwide.
