Spanish Muela knives. The foundations of the world-famous brand were laid in 1950 by Eladio Muela León, when he began handcrafting quality knives for hunters and trappers. He was encouraged by the success of the closing knives he produced, as there was considerable interest in them among his German fellow engineers at the Empetrol refinery where Eladio was employed at the time. This was the impetus he needed to set up his small knife factory, where he employed seven people. He immediately invested the profits in machinery to make the factory more productive. In a short time he expanded and moved the knife production to Argamasilla de Calatrava, in Ciudad Real. The current production facilities of Muela Knives, in Argamasilla de Calatrava, occupy an area of more than 5,000 m2 and are equipped with the most modern production and machining systems, producing more than 350,000 pieces of knives per year, 70% of which are exported to more than 50 countries on five continents.
The Muela Group is currently one of the largest producers of handmade hunting knives, not only in Spain but also worldwide. Muela knives are valued for their superior quality of steel and workmanship.
