The Burg Castle dominates the Bergisches Land and towers over the Wupper River near the Böker manufactory. The hilltop castle, completed in 1133, was built by Count Adolf II of Berg on the foundations of a 10th-century hillfort. Today it is one of the largest castles in western Germany and is inextricably linked to the Duchy of Berg and the Counts of Berg (1068 to 1225). The Burg Castle still reflects the immense wealth of the Counts and their far-reaching influence in the Rhineland-Westphalian region. Count Engelbert II of Berg was also Archbishop of Cologne.

As the history of Böker dates back to 1674, when the tree was first registered as a trademark for hand tools, we also have strong historical ties to the Bergisches Land and are in regular contact with the historians of Burg Castle. Large parts of the castle are currently being restored to their original state, including the replacement of the old solid oak planks. This led us to the idea of preserving this historical material for posterity and expertly crafting it into blade handles in our manufactory.

Based on this, we have designed the Böker Schloss Burg knife range, which is steeped in history and includes seven traditional knife models. In addition to the scales made of historic oak wood from the Schloss Burg, the models are characterised by the use of brass plates and the blade material is O1 carbon steel. In order to emphasise the authenticity of the knives, the blades are given a special acid-washable finish that also protects them from the harmful effects of the environment. All models are handmade in the Böker manufactory in Solingen, are strictly limited to 1,133 pieces worldwide and bear the newly released Böker historical emblem.

The classic trapper owes its name to the American rangers who ranged across North America as hunters and trappers. They were among the most important explorers and pioneers of European settlement on the continent and were often the first to make contact with Indians and Inuit. The slim design makes this traditional knife an ideal companion for everyday use. With individual serial number

Böker - the history of the factory dates back to the 17th century, the original forge was then located in Remscheid. In 1829-30, production was extended to sabres and swords. At that time, the factory employed over 100 blacksmiths and sharpeners. In the second half of the 19th century, part of the family moved to the USA and Canada, where they established further production facilities. The last of the Bocker siblings, Heinrich, moved to Solingen where most of today's production comes from. Boker manufactures knives according to its own designs and those of well-known knifemakers.
The company now manufactures its products in Germany, the USA and Argentina and uses the marketing brand MAGNUM. Böker develops new types and designs itself and employs several designers. The knives are manufactured on CNC (computer controlled machine tools) with the highest quality.
