Opening of the ExBTT-20 hardened telescopic baton is done by a brisk swing of the handle towards the open space, or the telescopic tubes can be extended simply by pulling the tip. The design uses a precision-engineered locking mechanism that firmly fixes the individual segments in the open position and ensures the baton's stability even under heavy use.

An exceptional feature is the innovative closing system. At the end of the handle there is a button, which when pressed in combination with light pressure on the tip activates the release of the lock. The telescopic parts are then easily retracted back into the baton body without the need for a hard surface or the use of force. This procedure allows the baton to close regardless of the intensity of the swing when it is opened and significantly eliminates the risk of damage to the structure that might otherwise occur, for example, by striking the ground, as is common with traditional Friction Lock models.

In drop tests, the baton was repeatedly dropped from a height of 2 metres onto a concrete surface, which exceeds normal standards (for example, German standards require impact on a wooden surface). The mechanism retained full functionality after these impacts and the baton could be closed without any problems. In long-term tests, more than 6 000 opening and closing cycles were carried out, with no signs of wear on the locking system. The quality was also verified by repeated stress tests in harsh conditions such as mud and wet environments.

The rifle comes with a BHT-55 type rotary holster which, when properly adjusted, allows the barrels to automatically extend when removed from the holster. The tip is gently held in the holster, and as soon as the user pulls the baton out, the tubes deploy themselves, saving valuable seconds in crisis situations. If this feature is not desired, the base can be easily removed and the holster used for normal retracted carry after removing the two screws.

The holster uses the UBC-05-A universal belt clip, which allows 360° rotation and offers 16 locking positions without the need for tools. This "Quick Change" system makes it easy to change holsters as needed, such as switching from a baton holster to a flashlight or magazine holster. The clip fits onto belts ranging from 38mm to 68mm wide, with the width being adjusted using a two-bolt stop.

The triangular end of the telescopic baton prevents it from rolling unintentionally on smooth surfaces thanks to its specific shape with flat surfaces. The H-handle offers a distinctive anti-slip tread that reliably prevents the baton from slipping out of the hand even in adverse conditions. The result is a tool that combines functionality, durability and maximum safety in every situation. 

The telescopic tubes of this baton model have a black nickel-zinc finish that provides excellent protection against mechanical wear and tear while giving the baton a subtle matte look. This finish significantly increases abrasion resistance, which is crucial for frequent use in harsh conditions.

The handle is finished with a special end cap with integrated control button for unlocking the lock mechanism. However, due to this design, it is not possible to screw common accessories onto the end of the handle.

The exact dimensions are 508 mm (20 inches) when open and just 224 mm (8.8 inches) when folded. The total weight of 480 grams provides an optimal balance between maneuverability and sufficient impact power.
