Product detailed description
Leatherman Raptor Rescue rescue shears were created as a tool for real-world situations where seconds matter and there is no room for compromise. The design is based on the needs of paramedics, rescuers, and firefighters who work daily with equipment, straps, clothing, and hard materials in emergency situations. The solid, precision-engineered scissor mechanism can handle thick fabrics, jeans, and work clothes without jamming, while the shape of the blades minimizes the risk of injury to the patient when working in close proximity to the body.
The folding design significantly reduces the volume when carried and allows for safe storage in a pocket or case without exposed edges. The integrated strap cutter allows for quick release of seat belts or carrying systems with a single pull, without the need to change your grip. The ring cutter works in a controlled manner and targets jewelry and thin metal materials where conventional pliers fail. The oxygen cylinder wrench extends usability directly in the ambulance, and the glass breaker offers an additional level of preparedness in traffic accidents.
The materials used can withstand frequent cleaning, disinfection, and long-term mechanical stress during shifts. The ergonomics of the handles promote a secure grip even when wearing gloves or in wet conditions, the pressure is distributed evenly, and the hand does not tire even with repeated use. The whole thing looks functional, without unnecessary embellishments, with an emphasis on reliability and long life.
The development took place in collaboration with professionals in the field, and production takes place in the USA under the Leatherman brand, which is reflected in the details and overall robustness. The long-term warranty confirms the manufacturer's confidence in its own solution. The Raptor Rescue makes sense as part of professional equipment, in a medical bag, emergency backpack, or as a practical and valuable gift for a nurse, paramedic, or new member of an EMS team looking for a tool with real benefits and peace of mind at work.

Leatherman - the idea was conceived in Tim Leatherman's head, he was travelling around the world and thinking of an easy way to take a set of tools with him. His knives are made of stainless steel and are mostly pliers based with various pulling tools including screwdrivers, files, saws and more.
Since 1983, LEATHERMAN has been making multitools that are very durable and made for the job. When Tim Leatherman and his business partner Steve Berliner founded the Pocket Survival (PST) multitool company, they had no idea that they would one day be producing more than 30 models in a 90,000-square-foot factory with more than 400 employees.
Oregon native Tim Leatherman graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University in 1970. After that, he held a number of jobs, including positions as an English teacher and helicopter mechanic. His time spent traveling abroad was eventually spent inventing the concept of a new universal tool. From the beginning, the company has been founded on a simple philosophy: to manufacture and deliver on time, to fulfill customer requests and listen to their needs, to increase the efficiency of multitools, and to provide a pleasant environment for its employees. Although Tim is now retired, he still visits the factory at least once a month and both he and Steve play a key role in the direction the company is taking. Tim still makes many visits around the world to keep an eye on the distribution network.
