The Kriegsmesser, or "war knife," is a new variation of Cold Steel®'s popular Grosse Messer knife. Instead of the side ring on the Grosse Messer knife, it features the traditional Nagel spike to protect the outside of the hand. The blade is made of high carbon steel with a hard spring temper and comes fully sharpened. The raised tip is ideal for cutting and chopping, and its distal taper and three-quarter slice make it quick and nimble in the hand.
To protect the hand and forearm, the Kriegsmesser is equipped with a long-knuckle steel guard.
The handle is also quite traditional and consists of a full tang complemented by a steel pommel and rosewood handle scales that are held in place by four copper pins.
