The Practical Katana has long been one of the most popular models for beginners and advanced practitioners of tameshigiri and other cutting techniques. The blade is forged from 1566 carbon steel and differentially hardened, combining a hard cutting edge (approx. 60 HRC) with a more flexible spine (approx. 40 HRC).
