The return of the classic... Hanwei's Tiger Katana is a nostalgic reissue of the original folded steel katana (SH1204) made in the early 2000s. The specifications have been carefully taken with an eye to accuracy. The K120C powder steel blade is differentially hardened using the traditional method to show distinct layers of grain (snake). The hardening line (hamon) is clear and distinct. The blade has grooves (bo-hi) on both sides. The tsuba is made of blackened metal with a depiction of a 'prowling tiger' inlaid with brass. The genuine stingray leather on the handle (tsuka) is covered with Japanese cotton. Saya is deeply lacquered with black lacquer and inlaid with brass bamboo leaves.
