It was originally intended for the manufacture of musical instruments. It is one of the hardest woods in the world and has a particularly fine, dark brown to black colour. The pronounced hardness of this natural material predestines it for the manufacture of accessories for wet shaving. The wood is durable, oily and polished to a high gloss. In practice, it is a shimmering, highly water-resistant material that additionally accentuates the unique veining. A wonderful contrast is created by the transition to the shiny chrome parts of the instruments. The Mühle brand only uses Grenadill wood from certified and sustainably maintained plantations. Without chrome, the world would lose much of its lustre, which is why we use it for our shaving products and why it demonstrates its best qualities here too.
