Mikov Predator switchblade knife, rosewood
Code: 241-ND-1/KPRelated products
Product detailed description
The PREDATOR knife from Czech manufacturer Mikov is a technically sophisticated tool designed for quick and reliable use in the field and for everyday tasks. The automatic ejector mechanism responds quickly and allows one-handed opening, which is a significant advantage in situations where the other hand is occupied.
The 420 stainless steel blade with a hardness of 52-55 HRc offers a balanced ratio between toughness and easy maintenance. The material retains its corrosion resistance over the long term and, when properly sharpened, provides solid cutting performance for everyday use. The knife's construction works precisely, without unnecessary play, and the mechanism is characterized by reliable operation.
The handle made of exotic Santos rosewood not only gives the knife an attractive appearance, but also provides stable and secure guidance when cutting. The shape helps to keep the hand securely in place, reducing the risk of slipping while working. The combination of wooden ergonomics and solid metal parts creates a tool that feels robust yet comfortable.
PREDATOR thus combines traditional Czech manufacturing, a modern automatic mechanism, and materials that can handle everyday wear and tear as well as more demanding tasks. This model is often sought after by users who appreciate quick handling, solid construction, and timeless design with wooden elements.

Mikulášovice, still called "Nixdorf" in the 18th century, is undoubtedly the place where the cutlery industry in Bohemia began. This small border town lies in the northernmost point of the Czech Republic. There were many itinerant knife cutters in the area who were noticed by the merchant Ignaz Rösler and employed in his first knife factory.
Initially, the factory employed 100 workers, but by 1819 the number had doubled. The economic success of this factory led other inhabitants to set up other knife-making enterprises and auxiliary trades, and soon most of the citizens of Mikulášovice and the surrounding villages were connected with knife-making. Mikulášovice came to be known as the 'Czech Solingen'.
