KMFS Vantaedge Hover spring kit

Product detailed description
The additional Hover Spring is a key stabilising element for the KMFS VantaEdge Integral system, especially when grinding duller angles where the weight of the grinding stone and head can affect the consistency of material removal. The spring is easy to integrate thanks to its precise fit on the angle head bar or alternatively on the bar of the optional MULTIANGLE head.
The body of the spring holder is designed with a self-locking shape, which allows for a secure fit in any chosen position without the need for additional locking. When properly adjusted, the spring is compressed, which lifts the grinding head including the grinding stone holder, guide rods and the grinding stone itself. This partial relief provides even pressure on the grinding surface, increasing the accuracy and repeatability of the grinding angle.
In cases of sharp angle grinding on smaller blades, there may be a lack of space under the head, which limits the ability to fit a spring. Therefore, it is recommended that the spring be used primarily on standard to wider blades with duller grinding angles.
Two stone travel stops are installed on the guide rods of the holder and provide upper and lower position movement limitations. The upper stop prevents the grinding stone from rolling off the bevel onto the side of the blade on wide blades, while the lower stop prevents the holder from accidentally rolling out of the guide rods.
Material: duralloy EN AW 7075 T651 for high strength and durability with minimum weight.
Surface finish: Plastered natural surface complemented by zinc plating provides increased resistance to corrosion and mechanical wear.

KMFS represents a Czech manufacturer focused on high-precision knife sharpening systems. The construction emphasizes mechanical accuracy, rigidity and repeatable sharpening results. During use, the angle control remains stable and predictable, allowing the edge to be shaped with confidence. The sharpening process feels controlled rather than experimental, which makes a real difference when working with quality blades.
A strong point lies in the modular design. The basic setup can be expanded with finer sharpening stones, diamond abrasives, leather strops or polishing compounds. This flexibility supports everything from aggressive reprofiling to delicate edge refinement. KMFS becomes a complete sharpening platform rather than a single-purpose tool, suitable for a wide range of knives and steels. Well-designed accessories also help keep the workspace organized and efficient.
Continuous development plays a key role in the brand’s identity. Recent introductions such as KMFS Rival, KMFS Vantaedge and KMFS Sensei bring improvements in ergonomics, stiffness and overall precision. Selected design elements are patented, highlighting original engineering rather than imitation. KMFS therefore stands as an evolving sharpening system with long-term value for demanding users.
