Detailed information

Product detailed description

The KMFS VANTAEDGE fine diamond sharpening stone with a resin matrix is a specialized tool designed for the final stage of knife sharpening. The design uses diamond grit fixed in synthetic resin, which works more gently than classic electroplated diamond coatings. The resin matrix stabilizes the abrasive grains and allows for more even contact with the blade during finishing.

Diamond is one of the hardest materials used in blade maintenance. In this configuration, microscopic irregularities created during previous coarser steps are effectively removed. The 3000 grit abrasive promotes blade smoothing and very fine facet unification without excessive material removal. The fine diamond structure helps create a clean and stable cutting edge suitable for precision cutting.

The abrasive segment is mounted on a duralumin bed, which ensures high rigidity and precise guidance in the KMFS Vantaedge system. The low weight of the aluminum alloy also maintains good handling during work. This type of mounting promotes a consistent grinding angle and minimizes unwanted vibrations during movement across the blade. The duralumin body increases the stability of the grinding stone and promotes accuracy in fine blade finishing.

During sharpening, it is recommended to moisten the surface of the stone with water or light oil, which reduces friction and washes away metal particles generated during work. The stone is compatible with the KMFS Vantaedge set, so it fits easily into this system for precise knife sharpening.

Compatible with KMFS Vantaedge
Grit: 3000 grit
Material: DIARESIN diamond

DIARESIN diamond refers to a type of diamond grinding tool where diamond grains are bonded with a resin binder. The name is a combination of the words diamond and resin. It is mainly used in grinding wheels, lapping tools, or polishing segments.

Principle
- Diamond grains – extremely hard abrasive particles that actually grind the material
- Resin (synthetic resin) – a binder that holds the diamond in the correct position
- The tool gradually wears down and exposes new sharp diamond grains
- The resin bond is softer than metal, so the diamonds are released more quickly and the tool is constantly "renewed." This makes grinding smoother and cooler.

Properties of DIARESIN tools
- Very fine and smooth grinding surface
- Less heating of the material
- Suitable for finishing grinding and polishing
- Less aggressive than metal bonding

KMFS_LOGO_1

KMFS represents a Czech manufacturer focused on high-precision knife sharpening systems. The construction emphasizes mechanical accuracy, rigidity and repeatable sharpening results. During use, the angle control remains stable and predictable, allowing the edge to be shaped with confidence. The sharpening process feels controlled rather than experimental, which makes a real difference when working with quality blades.

A strong point lies in the modular design. The basic setup can be expanded with finer sharpening stones, diamond abrasives, leather strops or polishing compounds. This flexibility supports everything from aggressive reprofiling to delicate edge refinement. KMFS becomes a complete sharpening platform rather than a single-purpose tool, suitable for a wide range of knives and steels. Well-designed accessories also help keep the workspace organized and efficient.

Continuous development plays a key role in the brand’s identity. Recent introductions such as KMFS Rival, KMFS Vantaedge and KMFS Sensei bring improvements in ergonomics, stiffness and overall precision. Selected design elements are patented, highlighting original engineering rather than imitation. KMFS therefore stands as an evolving sharpening system with long-term value for demanding users.
