Kris

The Kris is a classic Malaysian knife with a "wavy" blade that originates from the island of Java. It is considered one of the ancient weapons of Southeast Asia, and its popularity quickly spread throughout the archipelago. It is known in several versions, as each island in the archipelago had a unique design for the blade, sheath, and handle throughout history. It is a unique form of dagger widely used not only in Malaysia, but also in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Brunei.
The Kris is said to be endowed with magical powers and is regarded by many as a talisman for good luck. It is believed to bring good fortune to its owner.
The kris was originally a sword that was one of the famous weapons of the Filipino martial art of eskrima. Warriors of the Samal and Yakan clans used it to cause maximum damage. Even today, the kris is used in training and professional combat.
