anodized finish

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that creates an artificial oxide layer on the surface of aluminum knife parts. This layer is not applied as a coating from the outside, but grows directly from the material, firmly integrating with the surface and protecting it from corrosion. The layers are usually between 5 and 25 micrometers thick, or up to around 50 micrometers in the case of hard anodizing, with microscopic pores allowing for coloring in a wide range of shades.

This surface treatment increases hardness and wear resistance, which is essential for knives that are frequently exposed to moisture, hand sweat, or aggressive cleaning agents. Low porosity after sealing the pores reduces the penetration of dirt, which facilitates cleaning and extends the aesthetic and functional life of the product.

Another benefit is reduced thermal conductivity and electrical insulation of the surface, which improves grip comfort and safety for aluminum handles. The surface acquires a subtle satin appearance while remaining sufficiently matte to prevent glare from light reflections.

Anodizing on knives is therefore not only a decorative finish, but also serves as a protective and functional element that combines mechanical resistance, aesthetics, and practical use in everyday conditions.
