The original Devil's Claw was designed as a deep concealment knife with a handle that is intentionally short for concealment in almost any clothing. Of course, the design was so reminiscent of a karambit that it was only a matter of time before it would see a modification to become one.
The blade shape, materials, and thicknesses are the same for the Devil's Claw 2 as the original. The hawkbill blade shape is a proven design for utility and defensive tactics. It bites deeply on draw cuts and slashing shots. So whether you use it for self-defense or opening boxes, it gets the job done quickly and easily. The only real update between this and the original model is that the handle has been lengthened to fit the user's entire hand, and a ring has been added to the pommel, the kind found on karambits the world over. The longer handle with the ring on the end gives the user options not available on the original version (just remember that the trade-off is that the new version is somewhat harder to hide).
