The ESEE model 5 knife was designed by military instructors as a survival knife for downed pilots. A solid carbon steel knife with excellent cutting performance and a variety of carry options. High carbon 1095 steel is tough and durable, but not suitable for soldering. However, due to its higher carbon content, it can be subject to corrosion, so the knives are coated with a protective layer that largely prevents this phenomenon. On the other hand, with this steel, the knife is very light and dexterous, holds its edge for a long time and is honestly made, so it can take on almost any job.
ESEE knives are made with absolute attention to detail, using the best raw materials and care during the manufacturing process. Unlike many manufacturers, ESEE knives are field-tested, with each new prototype before it reaches the production stage. Since 1997, Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin have been on a journey to reshape the way survival and wilderness businesses operate. Their first design was the RTAK knife manufactured by the Wicked Knife Company in Arkansas and later produced by the Ontario Knife Company (OKC). They also developed the TOPS knives manufactured by Laser Strike. After spending five years developing the RAT line for OKC, they launched ESEE Knives.
Today, the ESEE brand is known and distributed worldwide. ESEE Knives/Randall's Adventure & Training clientele ranges from special operations personnel, rescue workers, hunters, police officers, border security, film crews, outdoorsmen to professional adventurers.
