Product detailed description

The Kukri for service in the British Army is one of the most common and popular knives among Nepalese Gurkha warriors and is part of their essential equipment. The Kukri has been an official part of the armament of the elite Gurkha troops in the British colonial army since 1837 and has remained so to this day. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Gurkhas also served in the British Army in Burma, Afghanistan, the northern frontier of India, Malta, Cyprus, and Malaya. They fought against the Germans and Italians in North Africa and Greece and against the Japanese in Singapore and in the jungles of Burma. The Gurkhas also took part, for example, in the fighting for the Falkland Islands, acted as a vanguard for Allied forces in the occupation of Kosovo and fought against the Taliban in Afghanistan.
