Product detailed description
Created in collaboration with young knifemaker Alex Kremer and Daily Customs, the Böker Daily Knives AK1 is a versatile small knife for everyday use that can be perfectly adapted to your needs. Alex Kremer was born in 1993 in Fulda, Germany, and started making his first knives as an 18-year-old schoolboy. To this day, his many travels, especially in the vast Scandinavian region, are a source of inspiration for him. The AK1 knife designed by him features a short blade with a drop-point edge made of powder metallurgical steel RWL 34, which is high-performance and ice-hardened to 61 to 62 HRC.
The ergonomically shaped handles, which are comfortable in the hand, are made of certified imported grenadilla wood. They can be easily removed with the included Torx wrench and replaced with various alternative scales that were developed and manufactured in conjunction with Daily Customs. In addition, once the handle is removed, the ingeniously crafted lanyard loop at the end of the handle can be turned so that it disappears into the handle. Like the entire full tip, it is made from RWL 34 material with minimal manufacturing tolerances. This means that the knife can be customised to your own requirements in a very short time and changed depending on the situation.
It comes with a quality black leather sheath that has Ulticlip sewn in and can be easily attached to the hem of the pocket thanks to the lockable spring clip. This allows the AK1 to be drawn smoothly while the holster is held securely in place by the Ulticlip buckle. Handmade in the Böker knife manufactory in Solingen.

The roots of Böker go back to the 17th century, when the family forge operated in Remscheid and focused on steel processing and edge tools. Over time, practical experience shaped a technical mindset that balanced durability, cutting performance, and reliability. The expansion into sabres and rapiers around 1829–1830 marked a decisive technological step, demanding precise heat treatment and consistent blade geometry. With more than a hundred skilled craftsmen employed, the company gained the capacity to refine production without losing its artisanal foundation.
During the second half of the 19th century, parts of the family moved to North America, establishing facilities in the USA and Canada. This international presence allowed experimentation with new designs and materials. Today, major production remains in Solingen, supported by manufacturing in the USA and Argentina, while modern CNC machining ensures tight tolerances and repeatable results. Böker develops knives in-house and in collaboration with well-known makers, delivering tools that combine engineering precision with practical usability, including the widely distributed MAGNUM line aimed at robust everyday performance.
