Detailed information

Product detailed description

The Bark River Aurora represents the ultimate interpretation of the classic bushcraft knife, designed with an emphasis on maximum functionality in the field. The 3.8 mm thick, 117 mm long blade made of modern CPM MagnaCut steel provides an exceptional combination of toughness, corrosion resistance, and long-lasting sharpness. Thanks to its optimized carbide composition and high tensile strength, MagnaCut can handle extreme stress when cutting hard materials as well as delicate tasks such as food preparation or woodworking.

The blade has a typical Scandinavian grind with a slight rounding towards the tip, which ensures precise control over the cut and minimizes the risk of breaking the edge during detailed work. The fine satin finish reduces friction during cutting and protects the blade from microscopic wear.

The handle is fitted with panels made of IBN Damacarta, a modern composite material combining high mechanical resistance with a distinctive visual structure. This material excels in stability during changes in temperature and humidity and offers a secure, non-slip grip in both dry and wet conditions. The gently shaped profile of the handle with a natural belly in the middle allows for a firm and comfortable grip during long periods of work and precise cutting tasks. The length of the handle provides a full grip in all common bushcraft grips.

The total length of the knife is 237 mm and its weight of approximately 190 grams ensures an ideal balance between robustness and maneuverability. The full tang construction, i.e., the integral continuation of the blade through the entire length of the handle, increases the strength of the whole and eliminates weak points critical for demanding use in nature.

The knife comes with a sturdy sheath made of premium cowhide leather, tailored to fit the knife and equipped with a belt loop. This detail, together with traditional rivets, ensures trouble-free carrying in changing conditions.

Bark River is an American family brand with a long-standing focus on manufacturing sturdy knives designed for real-world use in the field. Each model is developed based on the practical experience of outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, and professionals who value reliability, functionality, and durability. The brand's philosophy is based on honest workmanship, careful selection of materials, and consistent quality control at every stage of production.

In the production of blades, Bark River combines classic knife-making techniques with modern heat treatment technologies, achieving a balanced ratio between toughness, sharpness, and wear resistance. The steels used undergo optimized hardening and tempering, which has a positive effect during long-term use in demanding conditions, such as woodworking, food processing, or bushcraft activities.

Great attention is also paid to the ergonomics of the handles. The shape is based on the natural grip of the hand, which increases comfort during longer work and reduces fatigue. The materials used for the handles, including natural and modern composites, offer good grip stability even in wet or cold weather. Each knife feels balanced and predictable, which users will appreciate when performing precise and forceful tasks.

Bark River maintains its reputation as a brand that offers high utility value without unnecessary compromises. The products are aimed at customers looking for a quality outdoor knife with a long service life, consistent performance, and a reasonable price-performance ratio. Thanks to a combination of a traditional approach, modern manufacturing processes, and an emphasis on real-world use, Bark River knives are sought-after tools in the outdoor, survival, and bushcraft fields.
