Detailed information

Product detailed description

In the Mikov military knives offer there is an improved version of the UTON, which impresses not only in appearance but also in functionality. The Böhler N690 stainless steel blade is one of the best in its class - it is characterised by high wear and corrosion resistance, making it the ideal material for demanding field use. The hardness of 57-59 HRc allows the blade to retain its edge even under intensive use, while the wedge cut ensures efficient penetration through the material without unnecessary resistance.

The 140mm blade length provides a balanced compromise between maneuverability and efficiency, with only the UTON AZ model offering a larger size within the range. The STONEWASH matt finish, created by controlled metal plating, not only reduces glare but also partially masks minor scratches that can occur when working in field conditions.

The handle made of hardened rubber significantly increases ergonomics and safety of the grip. Its structure reacts well to moisture and does not slip even in a wet palm. A hole in the back allows attachment of accessories - for example, a saw, file or spike, which can be purchased separately. The second hole serves to stretch the paracord with a fixing pin, which extends the possibilities of fixing and carrying the knife.

The total weight is 164 grams, making the model a practical tool without unnecessary weight. This light weight is suitable for both field use and for hanging on gear without negatively affecting carrying comfort.

A variety of accessories can be purchased with the knife, including several types of sheaths that are not included in the basic package. The selection ranges from simple textile variants to leather or plastic versions compatible with the MOLLE system. The elegant wooden DDK2 gift box is also available separately. This model combines UTON's proven design with modern materials and precision craftsmanship, appealing not only to soldiers but also to collectors and outdoor enthusiasts.

Mikulášovice, still called "Nixdorf" in the 18th century, is undoubtedly the place where the cutlery industry in Bohemia began. This small border town lies in the northernmost point of the Czech Republic. There were many itinerant knife cutters in the area who were noticed by the merchant Ignaz Rösler and employed in his first knife factory.
Initially, the factory employed 100 workers, but by 1819 the number had doubled. The economic success of this factory led other inhabitants to set up other knife-making enterprises and auxiliary trades, and soon most of the citizens of Mikulášovice and the surrounding villages were connected with knife-making. Mikulášovice came to be known as the 'Czech Solingen'.
