First, it introduces the new H.WAYL system, a LionSteel patent, which allows to hide the clip when using the knife: the clip can only be removed when needed.
The second innovation is NFC technology , which we have added to the box in which you receive the knife. You don't need to look for more product information, but the knife itself will give you: care instructions, details on how it was made and general information regarding LionSteel.
As in the TRE, the ROK has the option to remove the flipper, so the knife has both one-handed and two-handed opening.

LionSteel was founded in 1969 in Maniago, an Italian town known for knife making as deeply rooted as the tradition found in Solingen. The founder Gino Pauletta built the company on precision manufacturing and deep respect for steel, values that shaped its early development. Initial production focused on contract manufacturing for other brands, allowing extensive technical experience and process knowledge to grow. In time, original designs appeared and the LionSTEEL brand was born, inspired by the stone lion standing in front of the factory and by the strength of the materials used. Clean mechanics and refined construction remain key characteristics of the brand.
During the late 1990s, the founder’s sons John, Daniel and Maximus joined the business and introduced a modern manufacturing approach. The adoption of digitally controlled machinery marked a major step forward in consistency and finish. By combining CNC technology with skilled manual inspection, LionSteel achieved a distinctive balance between innovation and craftsmanship. Each knife reflects careful design choices aimed at reliability, ergonomics and long-term use.
Today LionSteel operates as a compact manufacturer with full control over every stage of production. Products reach markets across Europe and the United States, while the commitment to exclusive Italian manufacturing without Asian components remains absolute. This philosophy ensures traceable materials, stable quality and knives built for lasting performance, representing a modern expression of traditional Italian knife making.
