The limited series of A.P.C. (Always. Pocket. Carry.) knives is a modern interpretation of the classic pocket knife with a spring-loaded slip joint lock. This model was created under the hands of experienced knifemaker Ken Steigerwalt, whose work is known for its precise craftsmanship and attention to functional details. The knife blade is made of Böhler M390 high-performance stainless steel, which excels in extreme wear resistance, long-term blade retention and excellent corrosion resistance. This powdered metal, alloyed with chromium, vanadium and molybdenum, is commonly used in high-end cutlery and ensures unrivalled cutting properties.
The handle is made of Fat Carbon Dark Matter - a carbon composite material with a distinctive visual texture and light weight. This material not only provides high strength and aesthetic value, but also helps to reduce the overall weight of the knife, which is under 80 grams, while maintaining full functionality.
The innovative design of the slip joint mechanism incorporates design modifications that reduce friction between the lock parts, minimising wear (galling), a common problem with traditional variants. The result is a smoother opening and closing action without losing the characteristic spring resistance that holds the blade in the open position.
To open the knife, a classic cutout on the blade - the so-called nail nick - is used, allowing easy opening with one hand using the nail. The overall length of the knife is approximately 165 mm when unfolded and around 95 mm when closed, making it the ideal tool for everyday carry without unnecessary bulk.
This model combines traditional elements with a modern material and technical approach. The result is a lightweight, compact and robust tool, ready for immediate use in everyday and more demanding conditions.
