Product detailed description
The Böker Barlow M4 Sherman Damascus features a unique damascus blade forged from various materials from production M4 Sherman tanks that were previously restored in a museum. The unique 80-ply damascus is hand forged by living legend Chad Nichols in the Customized Ladder pattern and commemorates the marks left in the ground by the heavy tracks of the M4 Sherman tank. The integrally engineered Barlow has a jute micarta handle that is colored to resemble authentic U.S. Army and Marine Corps camouflage. The solid stainless steel handles, which are milled on CNC mills, also form the distinctive bolsters and are hand sanded to a matte finish. With a quality felt holster for storage, certificate of authenticity and individual serial number. Handmade in the Böker knife manufactory in Solingen.
The American M4 Sherman tank was designed as early as 1940 and is still considered one of the most famous tanks in history.
It was used on all battlefields - not only in the United States and Canada, but also in Great Britain, the Free French Forces, China and even in the Soviet Union. Nearly 50,000 Shermans were produced, and it was the most widely used Allied tank in World War II. It was produced in countless mission-specific variants and was used until the end of the Cold War. Together with the Virginia Museum of Americans at War, they have been able to preserve this legend through this beautiful Barlow M4 Sherman-Damast knife.

The roots of Böker go back to the 17th century, when the family forge operated in Remscheid and focused on steel processing and edge tools. Over time, practical experience shaped a technical mindset that balanced durability, cutting performance, and reliability. The expansion into sabres and rapiers around 1829–1830 marked a decisive technological step, demanding precise heat treatment and consistent blade geometry. With more than a hundred skilled craftsmen employed, the company gained the capacity to refine production without losing its artisanal foundation.
During the second half of the 19th century, parts of the family moved to North America, establishing facilities in the USA and Canada. This international presence allowed experimentation with new designs and materials. Today, major production remains in Solingen, supported by manufacturing in the USA and Argentina, while modern CNC machining ensures tight tolerances and repeatable results. Böker develops knives in-house and in collaboration with well-known makers, delivering tools that combine engineering precision with practical usability, including the widely distributed MAGNUM line aimed at robust everyday performance.
