The blade was designed through extensive testing and experimentation by Andrew Demko, who is an electrician and engineer. While making his own multi-purpose hand-held work knives, he created a hybrid Karambit/Hawkbill knife that could cut through rope, cord, wire, and anything else his profession put in its path.This knife served him well over years of hard use, and when he was tasked by Cold Steel to develop his own version of a folding karambit, he immediately thought of this blade shape.
