Benchmade is one of America's leading manufacturers of modern high-tech knives. It was founded in 1978, when it produced its first and most famous model, the Bali-song. Benchmade was founded in 1978. Just one year after its inception, it became famous for the legendary Bali-Song knife by developer Jody Samson, which was awarded the prestigious Blade Magazine's Knife of the Year for 1979.
