El Pionero has many features that have proven to work well for Ed in knife practice. The finger dimple is his signature, which he originally learned from his mother, and is designed to make it easy to tell where the blade is oriented by where that dimple is felt.
As an added bonus, it helps when pulling out a knife that has been stuck in something and may be somewhat jammed.
The false blade also helps when a knife is stuck, where it will penetrate the material more easily, and subsequently be easier to pull out as well, as the thick blade is more wedged in.
The Kydex sheath is low-profile and can be easily customized by the end user for carrying in multiple configurations.
